Beth H. Driver

Dr. Beth H. Driver currently serves as chief of the GeoINT Analytics Division in the InnoVision Basic and Applied Research Office. She is responsible for developing and executing new research avenues in analytical tools, models, methods and processes for GeoINT; in knowledge representation and management; in pattern discovery and extraction; in human performance; and in data fusion.

Her previous assignment was as director of the Outreach Division in the Basic and Applied Research Office, where she managed the NGA Academic Research Program and NGA's program for supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions, along with externally-funded Intelligence Community programs. She received a 2008 Department of Defense Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics award for her work in this position.

Dr. Driver joined the Defense Mapping Agency in 1993 as the Defense Intelligence Senior Level (DISL) scientist for Data Base Design. Since then she has led numerous efforts to exploit modern system development and data management practices and technologies. Before joining the government, she managed defense and intelligence programs in the private sector, encompassing both strategic planning and development of data-intense systems.

She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and an A.B., summa cum laude, from Ohio University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She has published papers, and served on national study groups and on several standards committees. She received the Defense Mapping Agency Distinguished Civilian Service Award in 1996 and Meritorious Presidential Rank Award in 2008.
